laptop shuts down on its ownmilo
Hmm, that's the most common reason why. It could be a lose connection somewhere, or a broken adapter.
It depends how "hot" you mean. It could be a setting in your BIOS that when your laptop reaches a certain temperature it will shut down. My computer is set so that if the temperature reaches 70 degrees Celcuis an alarm will sound, and if it reaches 80 (like, say I'm not around to hear it) it will just turn off the power straight away. Turn on your laptop and when it's counting the RAM (or the Compaq Gateway Dell logo appears) press F11, Delete or whatever it says (usually something like "Press F11 to enter SETUP). Have a look for power management options and see if anything is set there. If that doesn't work, get back to me :)
-- There is nothing wrong with your news reader. Do not attempt to adjust your settings. I am now controlling your PC. I control the horizontal scrollbar, and the vertical one. I can deluge you with a thousand movies, or expand one single JPG to crystal clarity and beyond. I can shape your vision to anything my imagination can conceive. For the next post I will control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and the mystery which reaches from my deepest inner mind to, the Outer Limits. Please stand by.
