I really don't know to much about repairing computer, but I am trying to learn. I also had to put in a new power supply because the fan stopped working, I don't know if this some how had anything to do with the problem with the video. There are no beeps when I try to boot up, video is build in the motherboard, I tried installing a couple different video cards and did not get anywhere doing that. I am really not sure that it is actually booting up. The Motherboard is a FIC AM37, could it be the motherboard is shot??. I also am trying to fine out why a Compaq that belongs to another friend keeps on rebooting, it has the same type of motherboard that the one above has, in fact the only difference is the brand name. It acts like it's possessed, it starts on it own and then shuts down on it own, it might run for 15-30 seconds then shut down and maybe 3-4 seconds after it shuts down it will start up again. the longest it has run at one time is about 10 minutes before shutting down again. I have tried 2 new power supplies, but that did nothing to help the problem. I can't keep it running long enough to try and run any diagnostic program, like to check the memory or whatever I could find out, could it be the motherboard??. At this point I am at a complete lost on what to do with either machine. Thanks for any help I can get. The best help you can give right now, is to bow out gracefully, apologize profusely and perhaps pay for the repairs. One should only experiment on their own equipment. -- -nos1eep
