svchost.exe question
Google is your friend. mystery folder... know what this is Feel what you stupid poo for bains. I put my pants on one leg at a time like... However, malware can use svchost.exe on its behalf too and one must be aware of what svchost.exe to trying to connect to as it's the messenger on the O-S that makes connection to remote Internet sites and allows the communication. It's just the messgenger and the messgenger doesn't what the connection it's only doing the bidding for the O-S programs and other programs as needed. Svchost.exe has many tasks and communications is just one of the many tasks. Don't kill the messenger try to find out what's using the messenger and kill that if you can. And here you go since you asked about svchost.exe the link below. And if svchost.exe is not running out of Windows-system32 Win XP or Winnt-System32 Win 2k the %systemroots% on those O-S(s), it is a Trojan. Long version RootkitToolsinaWindowsEnvironment.html Short version You can use the proper tools in the link above they are free and look for yourself from time to time. You should try to secure or harden the O-S to attack as much as you can and there is a link for Win 2K too. Duane :)
