Just get yourself a notepad with a built in DVD writer. I doubt you can do something at home that is the same as something that has had millions of dollars of R&D put in to it with many engineering people behind it. -- Six to Twelve Hour Hell ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH. SIX TO TWELVE MORE HOURS! For the last few years, I have maintained a website for... JANA Hi - I was wondering if anyone's built a very small computer, I'm looking to make one that's very small that I can take on the plane with me and such. I was thinking if I got an external HDD and DVD-burner, then I should be able to have a much smaller case. Although I have no experience with metal fabrication or anything, so hopefully I could buy one that suits my needs. The worst thing is the power supply which is so heavy, I don't know if any significanly lighter ones exist though. Though if I made this, I could just carefully pack the HDD and DVD burner in a hard case, carry that in my backpack, and wrap and carry the computer on the plane. Also this would be better since normal size cases are usually to big to take with you on the plane, especially when wrapped with foam or whatever. Anyone have major problems taking computers on planes? Someone almost gave me a hard time with a HDD once that was wrapped in paper. BTW I would just get a laptop although I don't have the money and I don't like them anyway (don't like the LCD screens, can't upgrade them, etc.). thanks, dave k
