America's Descent Into The Third World
British Gas to outsource 2,000 jobs to India Friday, 15 July , 2005, 23:00 London: Energy group Centrica confirmed plans on Friday to outsource about 2,000 back-office jobs from its British Gas unit to India... snip glad you got that part of the story. Recently the CEO of Intel was in China and he said that the chinese are capable of doing just abut every kind of h-w design that americans can. Its just a misconception that people in other poverty-stricken countries are stupid or that they are poor because they are poor. I know lots of engineers who have pbutted out recently and have never been to US or benefited from US-returned engineers. Many of the recent grads at the country level (not necessaerily the ones I know) should be able to give stiff compebreastion to the stanford-berkeley-ivy league pbutt outs. Most of the technically challenging work was done by me when NOT on an h1b visa and I do not miss the work I did in US one bit. The work Im doing now is more interesting and advanced technically than I ever did in the US. There is always a possiblity that people in the 3rd world are backward because they are perenially struggling to survive and don't have the means to do basic-capital=intensive research. regards -kamal Bhatia urges India to excel in IT products Thursday, 14 July , 2005, 12:40 Bangalore: India should excel in product development to emerge as the Information Technology superpower of the world and the current model...
