Exactly this is the biggest problem of human society and the biggest risk we face. When a revolution happen, the radicalism and fundamentalism take a front seat.

It is very likely for a revolution to generate a swing from one extreme into another. Desperation and revolutionary euphoria cloud people minds and even when you got moderates trying to lead them to a balanced society this is not going to happen. If moderates speak, they are often believed to be on the "enemy" side and executed. Therefore, moderated voiced does not often speak during revolutions.

And here is the risk. There is NO DIFFERENCE betwen fundamentalists regardless of their side. Fanatic radical right are no better than fanatic radical left. However, revolutions have a potential to swing betwen them.

To make the mater worst, during a revolution there is always going to be a period of "power void" a lack of authority. Not just this lack of authority is going to allow degenerated elements of the society to rise up and commit unspeakable antisocial actions, but it allow opportunists profiteers to hijack the power. It is likely that after a revolution you get a regime no better than before. Sometime even worst.

This is what happen in Russia. Communist leaders created an autocratic plutocracy and hijacked the power by stifling any democratic freedom. They abused their power to prevent any change that could threaten their monopoly on power. They buttumed also all economic power and into that moment all the socialist roots of the communist movement was removed. The communist state (many call them extreme left) become as mater of fact an extreme right state where the oligarchy owned all the economy and nobody else owned anything. The communist oligarchy were the profiteers opportunists that hijacked the revolution.

This is the reason revolutions are better to be avoided. This is the reason I tell everybody that we need use our brains to reform our society to prevent the possibility that people become desperate enough for a revolution to take place.

I hope that there are enough mentally sane individuals to understand that no extreme (regardless if is left or right) ideology is the answer. The only solution it is a balanced society somewhere betwen left and right.

Unfortunate, current republican administration pushed our society toward right extreme. We are headed toward the same situation from 1917 Russia. And idiots fanatic radical right wants this to happen on world wide scale.

We need to take democratic actions to prevent them to achieve their insane goals BEFORE a revolution take place. We need to reform US society to bring it more toward center and implement democratic safeguards to prevent another insane leadership to try to hijack it again as happen today.
