An extremely high percentage of American workers, mostly older ones, stay employed for the main purpose... Razor Face Isn't that what the Vatican wanted people to believe before the renaissance? :-) He is talking of public discontent -not health of the US economy. The fact that the US economy has added more jobs resulted in lesser public discontent -but he doesn't guarantee that it will continue to improve and in fact states that if it deteriorates -political backlash will come back to haunt companies that outsource. When John Kerry was asked during the campaign in 2004 -he said on TV he doesn't have the means to put an end to outsourcing. So, if he was to be elected president -the end result would still have been the same if you believe what he said. BPO is cool & nanotech will be in: Friedman 1653 Kamal R. Prasad Correct. There is however a HUGE MISSCONCEPTION. The missconception is that low taxes = investor friendly. Not...
All taxpayers want to stop paying taxes and all beneficiaries of govt expenditure wish otherwise. If republicans want to lower taxes, it is more so because they represent the interests of rich people to a greater extent than poor-middle-clbutt people. It is trickle-down alright, but an investor-friendly climate also promotes investment. The money that goes into employing the bulk of americans is investor wealth -not originating from the US govt i.e. private equity. Investors are not obliged to spend money in hiring personnel -and if you have an investor-friendly climate, it spurs more investment. Conversely, if you burden them with a responsibility to finance your american dream aka societal obligations -they will be less interested in investing in hiring anybody and content with the returns obtained from putting it in bonds or money market accounts. regards -kamal
