Blame offshoring for the negatives of immigration 4540
Blame offshoring for the negatives of immigration 4542 Seriously, an ultimate goal of computer modeling is subsbreastute experiment. We are not there yet but eventually will be. Certain arias are... Well, there is a fundamental problem with how scientific things are done (in the West). The bosses prefer to keep the power to themselves, which means they do not delegate the responsibilities which means they do not share resources with underlings. This means that the level of the scientific work dropped, but this is OK, because it dropped everywhere, and the bosses are still able to get funds. Blame offshoring for the negatives of immigration 4541 And they are often the ones who get all the Credit Debt for the successful completion of a project. Unfortunately, a lot of software packages are set up that way, with... The problem for me in learning and using a computer modleling package is that it has lots of buttons labelled something like "2nd level of Runge-Kutta solver" or "two-dimensional Euler equation", and you have to pick the right one. Each button means the different regime of working of the modelling package, and where introduced by the original developers, who did not think hard at making it easily understandable for an unexperienced user. There is no logic involved into choosing the button -- you just have to know which one to press; that is someone has to teach you. Bernard already gave me advice about how to learn how to operate a modelling package. You just choose a setting (click radiobutton), and see how it affects the whole picture. But this is too much labour. Way more than I could invest with the current level of motivation (which is close to zero). But I do not complain. I will finally get there. I do not want to dig ditches :-) .
