If our business leaders are correct in their anticipation. You (India) are on the right track. What they are exactly interested in is that 1-2 of the population. Their calculations are as follows: so many guys and gals do not have anything BUT they need all of THAT and so if we are able to put them to work they will be able to buy THAT. In other words let them create something similar to the West economy where by in large most of the population is involved in the process. Currently, if I understand it right in India (as in many other different countries) one can basically find several parallel economies that do not interact. In other words people from one economy have nothing to suggest to people from another economy and they don't have means to buy anything from another economy. An example: sub Sahara countries produce nothing of potential values in the West and they are dirt poor to buy anything. So, they exchange only between themselves. It is one of the greatest achievements of the West - a creation of one economy where all people are involved. It has a lot of positive social implications such as stable prosperous middle clbutt. If you are successful in this road it will be a historical achievement for your country.

The problem on this shore is that a tendency exists of falling one economy apart into two or more economies which in turn brings about negative social consequences. We know this for a fact as in American society isolated due to historical reasons groups of people exist in society for a long time with all well known social problems.
