We were doing just fine right up to the times in the, roughly, '70s when Japan was where India is today. Then, we got tons of Made in Japan stuff. Then it spread to Taiwan, S. Korea, Malasia, Singapore, HongKong. Its in the books. The USA was playing, politically, with China in the '80s to play them off the USSR which ended up collapsing. So, China was "into" the US and the US was "into" China two decades ago and all kinds of political deals were being made. Then, US companies started moving business to these countries. Now, what does the US get from India? Cheap labor. China? Cheap electronics. Yes, the exchange rate PLUS the communicatons techology also became cheap. It has NOTHING to do with the US enjoying a too high standard of living. We've had multiple cars per family for decades. Way before India and China came into our newspapers.

Maybe you will never understand that you should be asking the same question to any developed country (most if not all of Europe and Japan and South Africa and Australia)

I mean -the opponents of globalization don't want

They just want the US jobs to stay in the US. You guys in India should just work your way out of 3rd world like the US did all through the 1800s and early 1900s. Its history. YOu can get books with even pictures in them that show this.

Go develop your own country like we did. I don't have any problem with India becoming developed so that it has the same standard of living as developed countries. Just do it without slowing down the US.
