I don't. Obviously the point is that a person with false credentials probably isn't the better candidate. To save you the trouble of even a google search, Tanya and Nancy were world clbutt ice skating rivals. Tanya tried to improve her chances of winning the championship (in this context, "getting the job") by hiring someone to hit Nancy in the knees with, IIRC, a lead pipe. Tanya's part in the crime was discovered and she was not allowed to compete, but Nancy "didn't get the job" either because of the attack. So, do you still hold the position that it is never anyone else's fault if another person doesn't get a job?

Yes, but that isn't always the entire story concerning exactly *who* gets the job. Such details count.

Be that as it may, what I warned some years ago in a published letter to Electronic Engineering times about...

straydog There are incompetents on both sides of H-1b; I dont see any way of sorting that out other than success in the global market, which is, to some extent, not talent...

If an incompetent person is hired for a job based on false credentials the company's product may be faulty, which can potentially harm consumers. At the least they may have to pay more because the cost of covering up for the incompetent employee could be pbutted on to them. As a software user as well as a programmer myself, I think the stress of dealing with crappy software products has taken several years off of my life. I can't prove whether the software was crappy due to uncredentialed incompetence or credentialed incompetence, but as they say, poo flows downhill, and the consumer is at the bottom of that hill. THAT'S why it is a problem, not that I should have to explain it to you or anyone with an IQ above body temperature (in degrees F).

you

You're welcome to live as you like unless that way of living embraces fraud such as diploma mills. Then I think any moral person would object.

Cheers, Russell
