Regarding fraudulent academic credentials, academic credentials in high tech are fraudulently out of date in the first place. I've been online for over 20 years, and often in the postings saw where "programmers" who couldnt hack their way out of a wet papered bag had advanced degrees. It is an art like chess or go, and you've either got it, or you dont, and no academic is going to give it to you.

Much of the problem with software that goes on all around us is due to personnel managers hiring on the basis of credentials and social skill rather than the actual talent to carve code. The geeks I've met over the years in user clubs and gray market warehouses of electronic gear are a disheveled lot who dont look good in company photos.

But that dont matter any more; we are where we are, and there is no way that elected officials (another sociable lot) are going to enact policy that will improve things. Au Contraire, we are headed for revolution as soon as foreign bond holders panic over the growing sales of US treasury notes. There aint a damn thing any US administration can do about that.

The next crash happening at electronic communication speeds will make the 1929 debacle look like a fender bender. At this point, so much of the global production is outside of the USA that the global economy can recover without significant export from the USA, which increasingly has been in management of portfolios and corporate law. Which wont be much in demand when the numbers become too variable for risk buttessment.
