Michael C# its alot outsourcing. shows that pbutt and seem "innovative" even age of Report), could be discovery when you years ago...

Conmpebreastion does exist -but sometimes vested interests don't allow it to flourish. If I had to give you a real life precedent, IBM (and I used to work at IBM but not at that time) had a monopoly in computers. There was even a govt court case in the US which IBm lost. When customers found IBM to be a rip-off, they had v few options. That created space for Snn micro to make UNIX servers that would effectively dislodge IBM. The compebreastion didn't exist when the customers felt hurt (they probably still do with the shoddy service that they get currently) -but the dislike created a new market for similar and yet better-cheaper products. When there is market oppurtunity, money gets invested and compebreastion comes into being. Imagine how stinking rich so many of the former high flying american companies like GM, Ford, Westinghouse ... would have been (or how many wouldn;'t have gonebust) if they didn't have to worry about compebreastion. Oh btw, I don't belong to any school of thought. Im just stating what I consider to be the facts of the case. It doesn't mean you should live with crappy s-w or not blame those who produced it.

they Most of them are -no doubt about that. But in countries with high unemployment (like India), the bar for retaining one's job can be higher. ok. As I see this wave of offshoring taking shape, it is just a matter of time before market leading products are designed in India. The cost factor is impossible to resist for corporations, regardless of hwo pro-american the executives might be. When that happens, american consumers will be able to decide with their pocketbooks whether or not they like the calibre of Indian engrs.

Ive seen some really ridiculous statements from usenet -and I just thought you are one from the crowd. uncredentialed Sometimes, there is a lack of choice. Sometimes, investors have a herd mentality and invest too much in one market segment. The world is seldom perfect -but sooner than later, every technology company has to face the consequences of bad engg.

I found it pretty cool -most imp thing being the lack of viruses and hw stability -which it owes to *BSD. It doesn't provide a choice because their computers are too expensive esp for the developing world.I can buy a car for the cost of 2 powermacs.
