Data indicates that DOL rigged claims of recent job growth.. 70Data indicates that DOL rigged claims of recent job growth.. 71 Batkus conviction or demonstrable fact? Nothing wrong with the former, but if the latter, based on what data, and how measured? What consbreastutes "dominance" of those pressures? Well, we certainly wouldn't want to... statisticians In point of fact, those pressures dominate in the DOL - or any other civil service agency for that matter. No. I don't notice because I won't waste my attention in this way. Ignorance and half truth attaches itself to every side of every issue both good and bad. One doesn't have to subscribe to phony conspiracy theories to admit that political considerations grossly distort economic numbers issued by government. Hell - I can't be the only one here with so many years of Quicken or MS Money records that show Greenspans inflation numbers to be nonsense. The fact is, inflation is very much higher than official figures will admit to. Conspiracy? Lies? Wishful thinking? Lousy arithmetic? Data indicates that DOL rigged claims of recent job growth.. 72 Okay, maybe a better illustration of the point I was trying to illustrate is this: In 2000, item X cost $100, and item Y cost $50. One fourth of the population bought one... What the heck is the difference? What matters is what is happening to the dollar and what you might do to protect yourself. La la land faith in the fed or the DOL ain't gonna cut it here! There is good science, bad science, biased special interests, and - at the absolute bottom of the heap - government figures officially released to the public. By comparison even Enron would be a model of accounting honesty and rigour. True but irrelevant. Thomas Bartkus
