As I recommended, I always try to pick an expert who seems most likely to agree with my contrarian observations. I always approach the expert as a "humble student", but am rather persistent about my observations until they are explained to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, I seldom (okay, never) find that I have proven all of the experts in a particular field of knowledge wrong, but I often do learn something in the process. If I didn't want to risk that fate, I would certainly not ask. If you decide to get an independent interpretation of your data, let us know what you learn. And if you decide you'd rather not risk having your understanding change, I repeat the recommendation from earlier in the thread. Going to the individual categories in the CPI data, as shown on that economagic page, will provide a great opportunity to compare to your data and strengthen your case.
