What amazes me is -how will americans finance their million dollar mortgages and still be compebreastive vs workers in other countries? I don't know of any million dollar home owners among my fellow engineers. Surely, AG must have had something on mind when he said that housing costs have probably gotten a little ahead in some areas -instead of saying they are plain unrelaistic and unsustainable.

yep -it is disaster waiting to happen. snip If they keep the dollar strong by buying T bills and-or mortgages, they keep their exports compebreastive. If they strenghten the Yuan, their exports will slow down and theirs isn't as much of an insulated economy like India to survive that change.

India is the world's largest importer of gold -due to its tradition of valuing gold, and that will hold up gold for eternity.

Same case with India. Water table is shrinking at an alarming pace, and global warming is all set to bring about mbuttive droughts. snip Yep -its a banana republic. Imagine pooty engineers earning an Indian CEO's salary. Even a janitor in the US earns more than a technical architect in India - and someday the question will have to be answered as to what exactly is so special about being an american or about their productivity that they deserve so much.
