To think for what ? They lost their jobs because of offshoring, they depleted their savings are in debt over their head, gas prices rise, rent-mortgage is overdue. Some tried to open their own business before they hit the wall, but were cut sharply by the customers: "We need a bigger company we can trust for our IT infrastructure". Of course, customers were misslead by the false propaganda Infosys, IBM and other like them promote spending billions in marketing.
The only thing they can think of is to change the society. To fix the system and to throw the fanatic neocons and libertarians into the "free market" trash can where they belong !!!
Tariffs are not a good idea, I agree. A sales tax to finance healthcare, retirement, education and research is the only solution able to do the trick. There is no retaliation against this measure, since most of the world already do it, and this will cut a lot of fixed expenses domestic companies have to pay regardless of their financial health. Having all these expenses eliminated, domestic producers will have a better playing field against offshore producers. The compebreastion can be restarted with the name "who is better" and not "Who can screw his employees more".
Correct. But people need opportunity to invent. If you take away all the opportunities with the clear intent to enslave them as in neocon ideology, you won't achieve nothing else but social unrest.
