Most CEOs don't want to work, either, and they get paid way more than anyone else does. What CEOs WANT to do is get OTHER people to do the work, get OTHER people to take the hit when poo happens, AND they want to walk with their $23 million severance packages when--and if--they get sacked. A few CEOs might go to jail but quite a few know how to protect their money.

Most CEOs really don't DO anything except make decisions based on evaluating proposals from underlings (eg. vice presidents and their underlings who actually do all of the work). Most of the engineers that I've known were pretty hard working and smart guys (this is from decades ago, I don't know about today); the exceptions were the guys who got straight Cs for grades (and doing this by looking at course files kept by fraternities to help students see what the prof's prior exams were, if they changed from year to year, etc).

Well, hell, look at all the rich people out there who had their money handed to them by their rich parents.

Its all part of the "cheating" culture.

Most of the industry has moved to China and India, now.

It will always be self-induced. With age-discrimination, YOU will get older by one biological year for every calendar year that pbuttes by. Obviousely its a self-induced problem, right? Age discrimination never is caused by the ones who look at the CVs-resumes, right?, and say to themselves "Gee, it would be nice to get some nice, young, cheap guy right fresh out of college (as if a guy with real experience really doesn't have anything more in the noodle, but might expect to get paid a little more)!"
