Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4154 ZaZona.com I have seen the website and it is dated. Have a look at:- It states that employment based visas are granted... On Wed, 20 Jul 2005, rrc Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4153 Regarding Oracle, heck their apps aren't going down in price, but UP. So, even if Oracle is getting cheaper labor... Don't know, but I'll speculate on an old fact: about 10 years ago, the WSJ offered BG, Scott McNeally (Sun, and "sunsetting"), and LE space on their editorial page to vent (you know, like we do here on SRC) and it was pretty clear and not hidden at all that each of these three guys really hated each others guts (also, sorta like, here, on SRC, between certain guys I won't name). Each one hosed the other two and then turned around and presented himself as a white angel, complete with at least three halos, and beautiful feathered wings, holy cross in one hand, American flag in the other (plenty of details for puking, eh?). LE, and IBM, and HP, and to some degree Sun, all LOVE Linux and really hate Windows (Steve Jobs hates Windows, too, but he probably loves himself more than Apple). I have no standing to say, but I think desktop software is definitely mature and all the future software work is going to be related to security and that means TCM chips, PKI infrastructure, managing malware (IDS, IPS), CRM, and keeping piracy down (more product activation crap). MS still overcharges for its sw; most of Office is recycled and the list price is still $500. The OS is overpriced, too, but the comercial .Net, server, etc.. stuff is also in outer space. "Software butturance" has all kinds of EULA crap that many users-buyers hate and so there is growing interest in alternatives if they don't need desktop stuff. LE & Oracle do have software that runs on Linux now, too, by the way. I've seen prices on IDS and IPS software that runs to $125,000 and not including support. He's been actively sending Oracle Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4156 rkusenet I have to disagree with this one, at least in part. A *huge* fraction of America's economic growth has been rooted in technical innovation and insane levels of hard work. In the world, there... They are ALL doing this. O isn't any worse than the others. He also Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4155 On Thu, 21 Jul 2005, rkusenet I can't cite a reference, I have read where there are segments of both Japanese and Chinese markets that are not (yet?) open to American marketing efforts. Its... Wile BG dumped money into his foundation which invests heavily in Malaria vaccines. I ask, if he's complaining about CS guys, why not put a lot of carrots out there for all those college kids and HS kids. Sponsor a "computer summer camp" and teach them some stuff and then test them for apbreastude and then coddle, cush, brownie those up for long term relationships. Nah...BG is not serious. His PR company is telling him to propagandize the public and the govt and the senators, etc.
