ZaZona.com Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4157 Kamal Prasad doesn't know what he is talking about, so let me repeat this so everyone knows the truth: INDIA HAS NO EQUIVALENT TO THE H-1B VISA. INDIA HAS NO EQUIVALENT... I have seen the website and it is dated. Have a look at:- It states that employment based visas are granted for a period of 1 yr on production of employment-contract letter and can be renewed either in India or in US. I believe this to be correct because I have seen quite a few whites in India. (There is 1 a few yards away in my office too -but he is married to an Indian and probably had an easier time with the regulations). No -it makes no diff. whether MNC X employs americans in India or not. If the workers here are not compebreastive, they aren't going to get the jobs in any case. The MNC always has the option of deploying its capital in the US to hire americans. In short, private equity cannot be legislated -as many americans seem to behallucinating about i.e. that a leftist president will do away with their ills. The immigration policies are highly restrictive to prevent foreign domination and for conspiracy theories of the like- but there is no rule that a company should hire foreigners only if they cannot find locals. If you can find yourself a job that takes you to India, you could spend the rest of your life here without worrying about your ability to get the work permit renewed. But you may find it next to impossible to get voting rights in India if you are not of Indian origin. Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4156 rkusenet I have to disagree with this one, at least in part. A *huge* fraction of America's economic growth has been rooted in technical innovation and insane levels of hard work. In the world... regards -kamal
