Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4155
On Thu, 21 Jul 2005, rkusenet I can't cite a reference, I have read where there are segments of both Japanese and Chinese markets that are not (yet?) open to American marketing efforts. Its also a fact that many US (high tech industries are already in Japan. One is IBM. Although I am born in the USA, I don't feel very sorry for our car industry. GM-Ford-Chrysler do not build as reliable cars as, say, Toyota. And, this is known to quite a few people. As long as built-in-US Japanese cars have better reliability and gas milage, I will buy them. I don't know the answer for sure, but I feel that corporate greed and selfishness ans stupidity among US car executives has been the fault for decadess. Since the US-made Japanese cars are as good as the Japanese-made Japanese cars, its not a problem with the workers and Toyota (I'm pretty sure) has allowed unionization of its US workers many years ago, so its not a problem of the presence, per se, of a union. There may be other details however. Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4156 rkusenet I have to disagree with this one, at least in part. A *huge* fraction of America's economic growth has been rooted in... Some atbreastude among our leaders is that compebreastion should be present because it makes better products and maybe cheaper. Its not a simple argument, but in this matter the US car industry, as far as I'm concerned has big jerks running it. There is a book on this "On A Clear Day You Can See General Motors" by J. Patrick Wright (I think), and if he is right, the US car executives are really a bunch of jerks. There was a famous stupid remark one made in our media many years ago. He said "We're in the business of making money, not cars" or something like that. Talk about the guilty guys making honest confessions. They are too stupid to even keep their mouths shut. Gates: "Where are the computer science students" 4157 Kamal Prasad doesn't know what he is talking about, so let me repeat this so everyone knows the truth: INDIA HAS NO EQUIVALENT TO THE H-1B VISA. INDIA HAS NO...
