Hi alexy, I haven't seen your illustrious (meant in a nice way) name over on acc for a while. Nice to see you come out of the woodwork and grace src with some of your curiosity.

I recognize that the "effectively" gives some

Financial statements (especially since Enron-Anderson) are a big black box, but BMJ is talking about things that I've seen long ago, too. I had some dealings with a small startup company and it was very clear to me that 80-90% of the cash it had was going into the pockets of the president and the lawyer he hired. More recently, I worked for two more small startups (both later sued each other, one got a $ 14 million judgement, the other went into bankruptcy while it counter-sued for $40 million, and I don't ever want to deal with any of those guys again), but the presidents and officers were definitely paying themselves cushy paychecks and chintzing on everything else.

Oh, excuse me. I forgot to mention Dennis Kozlovsky. Everyone knows him. Oh, how about Ebbers (you know, biggest $ billions ripoff), and ... dang ... Scrushy got off clean.

well, you can play the same "wiggle room" game, too. I'm sure most of MS original employees, who got good salaries (in addition to their stock options), didn't starve on that "underpaid" bit.

underpaid because of the under

Straydog (aka Art) Thank you
