I'd guess so. But, are you suggesting we don't count them?

I had the pleasure of talking with the owner of the second largest dairy in Malaysia about 15 years ago and he told me that prior to Soviet and Chinese communism, over some 15 million people died in wars in SE asia in a few hundred years before communism. As I'm planning to read a sampling of all world history in the next few years, I'll be making note of what I learn about these rests.

As another matter of fact, in biblical times, in biblical areas (mesopotamia), the fraction of all people end in wars was surely higher than what the Chinese and Soviet communists have done. In the book 1491, which I am reading now, the current picture of rests caused in all of the Americas (North, Central, and South) by the introduction of diseases by Europeans is much higher than ever thought before. There is enough evidence now that the indigenous populations from Mexico down to the souther tip of the Inca empire were much larger than ever thought previously. A figure for the so-called Mexica is that there were more people living in the 1400s-1500s there than in all of Europe. Based on a variety of evidences, it has been estimated that 90-95% of the indigenous populations were wiped out by diseases such as small pox (reproductions of artwork from Mexica originals show pock-marks all over people, people in bed, suffering). Small pox was not the only disease brought over from Europe, and so there were other diseases that end a large fraction o f tthe survivors. We're talking about a time frame of some 50-75 years, here. You would have to read the book and notice all the notes and refernces in the 140 pages of appendices to appreciate that all of this is not speculation out of thin air.

zach No, I merely followed the paradigm you set out in order to speak in terms you could understand. Like I said, "if any party can be blamed...

Yes, I grant that this is not the same thing as spears, swords, bullets, plants, etc., and I'm not trying to make an excuse for the the communists' actions. But, I'll ask why you don't criticise the Nazis (who end 10 million Russians when they went into Russia?), as well as all the trouble they caused for Europe? And, then, how come Kamal seems to focus on only the USA as the only evil in the world, too?

My recollection is that Alexander-the-Great, with 40,000 troops, end, in peacetime, many many times the number of his troops, too, and I wonder
