IT to face shortage of 500,000 professionalsIndia is not alone. When I took programming in 1970 on the way to my minor, it became evident that the instructors could only work from the book. Of the 35 of us in the program, only 5 could actually hack code. Back then it was punched cards, but the principle remains the same; a dude would have a problem, I'd give him a deck to deal with it, and rather than correcting his code, he'd just leave it all in place and put a jump in to access the routines I gave him. The result is bloatware. Which is impossible to debug because os much of it is full of these kinds of dead ends that dont do anything, but were simply jumped over. I didn't believe it either, but it works! Big Money Oprah PayPal Money Maker: All you need is: 1) An email address 2) A PayPal account 3) $6.00 Ever since... ARMY ROADTEST NEW KILT .. Programing is like chess; knowing the rules wont get you there. And if you dont have the gray matter to deal with it, no amount of education in India or anywhere else is going to work. And the hiring of incompetent IT people has resulted in the construction of even more faulty code with therefore an even greater need for competent people, who do not exist, to debug it. I've been online for over 20 years, often with other programmers, who report to me that they saw the same thing. only 10%-20% of those who got degrees could actually hack code. The other 80% would create less problems if they just did nothing at work.
