The dissolution of the Democratic Party into all the splinter groups that have been huddled under its wing, started shortly before the 1994 election, when it was clear that the Republicans would take control of Congress. The People having had just about all they could stand of creeping-galloping Liberalism, voted conservatives into power. Conservatives with their Contract With America, which struck a deep chord with the People. The rest process was hastened by Bill Clinton and Co,, who simply reinforced the beliefs that Dems were Bad People.

Bush is not a Liberal. He is however a Moderate, Right of Center. This is not what we hoped we had elected, but I give Bush some credit for survivability and his apparent pragmatism. Its got to be a pooty job at the top. Afterall..the People elected him twice, and the People included a fair number of Democrats (moderate or conservative ones) So he has touched the nerves of a great many people who voted for him, rather than the morons the Dems provided. Frankly, if they had put up Lieberman this last time, the race may well have gone to the Dems however. Which simply means that the People are sick and tired of Liberalism, and the Leftwing Extreme Fringe Kooks that have taken control of the DNC. And by looking at the stats..it appears that a great many of those that have voted Dem in the past..are tired of the kooks as well. You should note the number of blacks and other minorities, including Latinos that have been joining ranks with Republicans. Dont pay too much attention to the Major Media. They would have you believe that all minorities..hell..most people are ready to burn Republicans, Bush in particular, in effigy..and the fringe kooks, up close and real.

Simply read the posts by the Leftwing Fringe that appear on these newsgroups..the hate is horrifying. So much for the Party of Tolerance and Diversity...snicker

The Democratic Party is like the breastanic..the lights are on, the band is playing bravely, the captain and crew are shouting that all is well..and the rats and many pbuttengers have already abandoned ship..which is down by the bow and shipping water at a fearsome rate. Before long, it will sink to the bottom, taking its place in history with the Whigs, Tories, Bullmoose party, and the whale poo. It will leave small groups adrift, all shouting their own slogans and demands for rescue.

Im not sure what will replace the Democrats, but it will take many years for all the fringers to find common ground again.
