I've heard the statement from both American born CEO's as well as Indians in America in an attempt to gain market share without resistance.

This is not to slam Indians, but whenever you have immigrants from poor countries that are desparate to take jobs, Industry will take advantage of them and lower the conditions for all. Forgive my tone with regard to Indians and my use of the word "scum". rkusenet started a race war in this group and threw every item in the kitchen. It is legal to burn the flag here on U.S. soil. I have never suggested that we could legislate what goes on in India or how Americans spend there money there. I've only said that our politicans have got to do more about business practices in the U.S. If someone wants to do business, government can tell them what there hiring practices should be. We cannot tell people how and where to spend their money, but the government shuts down businesses all the time.

I hope you are not suggesting that American workers do not go the extra mile. Many of us have continued to educate ourselves after college and have put in long hours to make sure implementation of projects in done without a hitch.

The cost is less, but I have seen not evidence of improved productivity (productivity defined as output per unit of labor).

But in the U.S., health and occupational safety laws are an issue in almost every business. In California, we have very very high workmans compansations issurance premiums because of this. This is one of the costs businesses are attempting to escape.
