CSC To Cut 1,800 Domestic Jobs, Add 2,000 Offshore Workers Message: This is a Type By Paul McDougall, InformationWeek Wed. August 09, 2006 Computer Sciences Corp., the nation's third-largest outsourcer, says it plans to cut 1,800 jobs in North America... Kamal R. Prasad There is no connection whatsoever betwen productivity and wages. Cost saving drives Taiwanese hardware firms to India soc.culture.indian, sci.research.careers, soc.culture.bangladesh Staff Reporter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Companies can save 25 per cent on freight cost if they ship from India... In the last 5 years while the wages and jobs dramatically declined the productivity encountered one of the biggest boosts in history. But all the proffits were pickpocketed by people that had no effect whatsoever in rising productivity (CEOs and rich shareholders). The wages are exclusively related to bargaining power. In the same period the unions were strongly attacked, antiunion propaganda was high and membership in unions declined. As a result, wages went down and more jobs were lost. Us have a systemic problem. We already reached the point of entry into post industrial society. But we are stuck with an obsolete set of socio economic rules. The ONLY way will be to reform the system and reform US toward a social - democracy which it is in sync with the new phase. I mean, it is unavoidable. It is going to happen anyhow. The problem is when and how. If the idiots fanatic right corporate sock puppets stay in power, then they will delay the reform to allow more looting time for CEOs and shareholders. The situation in meantime will degenerate so badly that a depression or worst will strike, and violence are quite possible. If we get leaders smart enough to start reforms slowly and steadily, then the transition will complete peacefully.
