India following facist model according to Indian author 1717
On Fri, 25 Aug 2006, aj To some of my own dismay, and after reading quite a bit of history in the last five years, there was, in ALL of recorded history, always a "power structure" (eg. in Mesopotamia, etc) thousands of years ago, and two main features of this power structure were: i) taxes imposed by the head honcho, and ii) conscription of most if not all able-bodied men into armys' (either for offense or defense). Now, a second item of interest: what is the oldest profession in the world? Prosbreastution? The second oldest profession in the world? Spying? India following facist model according to Indian author 1718 Straydog yep -capitalism enhances disparity of income. Employment whether forced or voluntary does pay more than being unemployed. Ask the unemployed folks who signed up for work... I think the oldest profession in the world was "landlording". A few guys, thousands of years ago figured out how to tell the many other guys that those few guys "owned" all the land on which all that free "hunting and gathering" took place, and thus for a little extortion, a few overling guys got to live off the backs and sweat of the many underling guys by charging them rent. The fall Yeah, it wiped out the profession of "sovietology" and a lot of DC "beltway bandits". I'll call it "going where ANYthing can be exploited for monetary gain" but the Enron guys didn't have to go very far. They just "made up" big numbers in spreadsheets on their laptops on their desks out of thin air. I hate that. Ah....I don't disagree at all.
