Ah, this is very interesting. I have heard (read) of what our media called NGOs, but always wondered what they were talking about. I can say there were complaint from Russia about NGO (non=government organizations) and Russia didn't like them and shut them down and then our officials complained "Oh, this is shutting down freedoms" and I was suspicious that we were not getting the whole story.

they are now getting really bold. new churches

Yeah, we have some of our own problems with fundamentalist religious factions, too.

to exploit the poor vulnerable and

Well, if I understand you, I would consider it an abuse of religion, too.

So, thanks for the explaination.

Straydog and as the job export traffic grows in sizw, the H1B traffic will come down in size. Its inversely proportional -if you didn't realize. Organized religion is...

I could say some things about Hindus that maybe you don't know, or you could challenge that, but I don't have enough time now. Sorry.

However, I also know from our own past, when the USSR and US were in the serious cold war, that our side generated bad propaganda, too. It came out after the cold war that we had Radio Free Europe that advertise on our TV to "broadcast the truth" to captive east europeans and Russians and please send money, and this was in addition to our US Information Agency which was just "ordinary pro-US" material. It turns out that the vast majority of the Radio Free Europe budget came from our CIA (and I'm not so proud of them, but then most countries have spy-agent projects) and that the "truth" was really messages to stimulate revolts and encourage rebelions.

So, in the end, I don't particularly take sides in all of the political fights and the stories "we are better than you" or "we tell the truth, you lie" because most of the time, everyone rationalizes their own behavior and over-criticises their adversaries. Sometimes there is a clear bad guy. For sure, Hitler was a bad guy. I don't want to start a long list, now, because I don't have time just now.

Yes, I heard about that.

it's only matter of time that

Hah, well look at the USA, my country. Our Washington DC is all friendly with China, a self declared communist country, and still cold to Russia, which almost seems more opening up to democracy (minus some internal troubles) than China. How about that for double standards?

I don't disagree.

thus setting back the goal of the war - an

No.

the hindu criticism of usa is usually well intended. like the

I don't see in our media ANY complaints about Hinduism.

Straydog I just said that with the increase in jobs locally, fewer people are aspiring to go to the US. Whether their relocation to the US is good or bad and how bad relative to...

Yes, its a major problem with over-compebreastive capitalism. It feeds upon itself, I think, and a little money makes people with money want more, and it just feeds on itself more.

Yes, but they don't care. I fear a great culture of corruption spreading here. Enron, stock option backdating now, obscene packages for the CEOs, they are worse than kings-emperors of old days.

Ah, but they come in and the employer-ceos love them being unable to speak english or know anything because they can be exploited, and so they already get jobs that locals can't get because the locals wont work for $3-hour.

so, count your blessings

Thanks for the further info.
