India following facist model according to Indian author 1733
On Fri, 25 Aug 2006, Kamal R. Prasad skip The ending phrase in your sentence is just speculation. You can't say that unless you have actually measured or asked Indians 5 years ago, 10 years ago and today who are hireable in IT (or whatever) what their wishes are. However, as as you say that more jobs for Indians are created in India (directly or indirectly with USD) instead of jobs for Indians created in the USA (directly with USD), your fellow Indians may simply see more job announcements appear in India for locations in India rather than the US. So, it may have nothing to do with "aspiring". But, I claim it has everything to do with USD. Whether their relocation to the US is good or You need more knowledge of history. The Not true. Once the natives were The armed forces came and just took the gold. There were no missionaries till later. to bring about conversion, That may be something specific to Mexico. Traditionally the (Christian, and particularly the Catholic) church was unusually authoritarian, dogmatic, inflexible, and absolute. India following facist model according to Indian author 1739 alexy Firstly, you are talking of political refugees and Im talking of work permit holders in India. Secondly, the US govt's statements need not represent the truth. To convince me... That came quite a bit after Columbus, who had nothing to do with where the gold was, and the conquistadors. Almost all of Europe except Spain and Portugal emmigrated to what is today the US and Canada. Spain and Portugal sent emmigrants to what we call Latin America which includes Mexico and all countries-lands south all the way to the tip of South America. The peoples that live in all of those lands are composed of the indigenous "indians" (yes, they use that term, too) who include descendants of Aztecs, Mayans (where Guatemala is now), and Incas (western parts of all of South American) who were there for tens of thousands of years. Starting in about mid 1500s, Spain and Portugal sent people to colonize all of Latin America and is a history that "Americans" don't usually get very much since "Americans" (as US people, and maybe Canada) look to England, France, Germany, etc. for historic roots because almost no one here came from Spain-Portugal. My recollection is that some treaty was signed between parties of Spain-Portugal and England-France-Germany(I don't remember the details) which split up the "interests" in all of the American lands (North, Central, and South). This is why you go into Mexico or anywhere south and the dominant language is Spanish, except in Brazil where it is Portugese. The natives were all converted and taught the languages of Spain and Portugal by the missionaries whose job it was to teach, collect the "flock" and lead them into dogmatic religion. India following facist model according to Indian author 1735 On Sun, 27 Aug 2006, Kamal R. Prasad skip How can you write a sentence about the past tense and... I'll leave that to you to use any search engine and read for yourself. But, why don't you also understand that there is a Japanese lobby, a Taiwanese lobby, a China lobby, and any other country that does trade with the USA. And, we (US) have lobbyists pushing our agenda over in Europe, Canada, etc., too. And, once in a while a scandal developes over some US company discovered to be paying a bribe to a foreign government or agent to influence them, too. So, it goes both ways. Politics can trump economics. In other words, you think "Americans" get more credit that is due. And, that they are even not due any credit at all. I view politicians as Fine, so is money, rich people, and powerful people. They all crave more of what they have. You can say the same thing about guns. Look, the USA has more military power than the rest of the world put together. For me and at least a small fraction of others here it is too much. I had nothing to do with the Iraq gamble. The first time I heard about WMD in Iraq, I said I would have bet all the money I had that they would never find WMD. And, after, what 1-2 years, they found nothing but two truck trailers and some empty warehouse with a few missles that could be pipes and the missles were missing some parts. That is not a religion. Call it a philosophy or strategy. Not religion. India following facist model according to Indian author 1734 Straydog The folks who have been to the US are almost all clear they do not want... They were not down-trodden. They lost WW I. They had to pay reparations. Down=trodden is more like the black people in the USA (etc) or Dalits. I think it would be better to talk about religion, first, as a set of beliefs. And, it includes worship. You can have schools of thought that have very little to do with beliefs and worship. Science, for example, depends on rationalizations and logic (either absent or diminished in religion) and above all experimentally testable hypotheses. There is no "bible" or "koran" or "talmud-torah" for atheism. If anything you can discuss atheism in a context of philosophy. School of thought? I'd have to think about that. Its a pretty small school if it is. A possibility only. To improve power structure more than political fortunes, if you ask me. This is probably a reasonable statement. But, power is acheivable. Salvation is in dreams. Still untrue. All through mesopotamia there were different religions, different gods, different idols, etc. The "compebreastion" manifested itself in warfare. Compebreastion means there is a customer who has choice between more than one provider. All those primal societies either had their own belief system or that of an invader. I would not use the word "compebreastion". Now, if a religion of an invading party was perceived to be superior then maybe it would get converts. In cases I've read about, the conquorors dictated what the conquored would do. No choice. Convert or die. and one which develops locally does not have to compete And, you call that compebreastion? "modified to decimate"? If you ask me, it sounds more like the "power of the stronger." This is mostly true but your choice of words is weak. The Catholic church and the papacy was incredibley wealthy and powerful, and even in about 1100-1300s+, very very corrupt and actually evil and destructive (inquisitions, censorships, influence of politics, ownership of lands, and at least for some time totally above the law and tax exempt). It led to the reformation and over some 100-200+ years a serious diminution of church power, and the development of the Protestant branch(s) with a wide range of practices and belief versions. Confucianism was a system of ethics, not religion. Taoism is pantheism, not theism. India following facist model according to Indian author 1737 On Fri, 10 Aug 2006, Kamal R. Prasad For over a year now, I can tell from what you write that half the time... It all depends on what your government spends its money on. Why don't you do some research on this. Does your government have anything like our US Information Agency (which tells only pro-US stories, but may also tell anti-left country stories like the US does) or does your government's CBI or foreign agent-spy program (whatever it is) go around and do some bad things outside India (like the US CIA or the old Soviet KGB-GRU, or Israel's Mossad, or British MI6, and China has been caught spying in the US, too and we spy on them, as well)? All of your representatives, along with reps from other countries, that meet at WTO rounds, are almost lobbyists because they get paid and they get paid to promote the interests of the countries they represent and get decisions with the best results for themselves and don't care about anyone else. I know the govt approves And, there is some effort from Pakistan to form a Pakistan caucus (more to party with our politicians to get favors for Pakistan). But Im I don't remember the exact details, but there was some dirt 1-2 years ago where India politicians wanted more h1bs in exchange for opening Indian markets. Yes, it helps Indians get work experience in the USA, then bring that back to India, and that helps India's industry. Same story for China. China expects some Chinese to come to the USA, get degrees in sci-eng-tech and some will come back to China and help their industry AND staff their universities with professors to teach China how to develop. Not bad if it helps China. But if it costs us our industry and destroys our jobs, then its a very different outcome that is bad for us. So, its not just some detail of economics. And, don't forget; gold brought from the Incas (etc) to Spain destroyed Spain. France, England, Japan, etc., all completely depended on US military power to counter Russia-USSR and Rus-USSR was very agressive at expansion (into East Europe, and absorbing lands into republics, and working with China). The rest of the world either fell behind the US, or the USSR, or tried to play off both the US-USSR. I don't know this history very well. skip I asked you how many Dalits vote. ten percent, twenty percent? The naxallites are on an offensive with the state and for them I'll leave that to your PM. You mean everything in Pakistan's dealing with India is so nice? Kashmir so nice? And, you are already forgeting that your Naxalites, inside your own borders, are not part of your democracy. And, I've already seen some "propaganda" (by Roy, and the anti-globalization peoples in India) that they don't want to be "liberated" by your govt's "democracy". Your govt spews propaganda Partly true, but partly false in the sense that every great power has tried to spread its ideology. You've already forgotten the USSR which thought communism was the greatest thing for everyone. And, all the imperialisms, empires, and colonialisms going back for a long time. In ancient times they were called suzerantys. Basically an alliance, but one was dominant. When are you going to get off this "your" stuff? Where are there politicians that really really care about the people (instead of the wealthy-influential clbutt)? Only if they get some benefit somehow. India would be disinterested in the USA if the USA were a poor, broke, dead, empty pile of dust. For YOUR benefit, you should spend a little time, at least, learning about all the other countries, their history (both good and bad), and that they have-had places in history. There are no angels and no saints. I can list dozens of border disputes and mutual bad feelings by nearby neighbors all over the world. And, going back to ancient times. and it could mean that I have zero power over Bush, Bill Gates, and all those guys. I didn't vote for Bush, and I didn't vote for the other guy since he wasn't any better. Like talking I would appreciate it if you could learn to use the word "exploitation" in the USA instead of "slavery". Because then I would agree if you want to sayh there is a lot of exploitation here. Corporations have all kinds of tricks and traps to cheat anyone they can. On the other hand, I'll also grant that for most goods that you can buy here, there are warranties and guarantees. But, I also have to say that if the warranty is for one year, then after 13-15 months, the thing will break and then the warranty is worthless. I've been over this with you so many times. Its part of contracts and law. If you can't speak english and don't know the details of the arrangements under which you get a job, then you just don't know your rights and of course it is not illegal, in some cases, for the boss to not tell you the details (a trick and a trap). I can tell you that even most guys in the USA don't even bother to look up even an average book in the public library to see what rights they have and what to do if they are treated badly by an employer. For a few issues, the employer is required to post a special poster in the workplace. Since I am incorporated as a small business, I have to post this poster, too, even if I am the only employee, but also my wife is an employee, too. So, it doesn't matter, but I still have to post some of these posters. By law. But, there are a lot of laws that are on the books and stupid guys get kicked around and just get mad. But, sometimes if they talk to a lawyer, then can get $10,000-millions in a settlement. So, besides all employers being dictatorships, if you know the laws then sometimes if you get kicked, then you can kick back and get money. Its a perfect situation for exploitation. So, they are willing to give up their Fine, but I'll also predict or speculate that there are loopholes in your laws, too. And, if not, there is a big chance that some bribe will fix everything. Or, do you disagree with that?
