India's furious economic pace is no accident 1216
The new breastans ref article from the economist 1220 This is a followup acvailable to subscribers only -which I am pasting:- -------------------------------- SURVEY: WORLD ECONOMY More... I like the WAY he writes but do not necessarily agree with all his politics. I did not write "Capital can be ....", but the sentence does speak the truth. If capital is the product of land and labor then it can certainly be "generated internally" (within a country). It can also be generated (created) and then shipped into a country. I was specifying the difference between capital and money. I see no contradictions in anything I said. If there are any contradictions I would like to address them. It is rather interesting that oil is, in essence, a labor subsbreastute; that capital (real capital) is a labor enhancer-magnifier both of these things are used to reduce the labor necessary in the production of goods. ALL GOODS are ultimately a product of land and labor. (oil is land) Fine. We agree on this. Do you object the words "serf" or "indentured servant"? Infosys eyes world markets for universal banking solution Sunday, 17 September , 2006, 12:24 New Delhi: Infosys, which is dominating the banking software space in India, is bullish on growth in the domestic and global markets in its bid to emerge as a... No. The problem really is that the Chinese people are many and hungry and they are willing to work for much less than us fat Americans. If capital can replace the need for educated and intelligent people (as it has) then we (the middle clbutt) are all doomed unless we can democratize our governments. So why do you think that people who do "jobs" are not earning the stuff they get???? Goals are NEVER reached or they are not true goals. Only objectives are real. The objectives are the realization of progress toward the goals. The process is one of "weeding out" the trash and keeping the good stuff. A more democratic government is the key. I have suggested how to get there in a different thread. But I will tell you here and now that any, so called, Democrat or Independent that is not touting and shouting the praises of a doubling of the membership of the US House is a Republican wearing a Democrat suit. This tells me that in reality we have only one party. And that is a party that helps incumbents stay in power at all cost and thus a party that seeks funds to stay in power. Both parties are bought and paid for by the wealthy and powerful and the people have no voice. Democrats are, therefore, just a wing of the Republican Party. There is no real Democratic Party. It will probably be necessary to create one. A real Democratic Party would be for MORE democracy in this country; more representation for the American common people and less power in the hands of each member of the House. Why would you think that an "explosion" of economics papers is a bad thing or that an explosion of blogs is a bad thing? People must have unbiased information in order to help them "think" and the more non authoritarian stuff we can get the better off we will be. But you must read all of it or at least a few sources from different angles. It is much worse than that. They intend to totally bankrupt the US government and thus bring about rule by plutocracy-fascism. They are doing quite well, thank you. Because if the gag placed on the common people by limiting the House to 435 members, all that is necessary to stay in power is to "make the rich happy". Due to the need to reach 650k people it costs $4M to run for a seat in the House. And that $4M price tag works to the advantage of ALL enbreasties currently in power including the media. But does it fall into the category of "Who end the Electric Car?" -- "I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education." - Thomas Jefferson
