Indian business status: At the bottom of the list
from BUSINESS WEEK, July 31, 2006, page 43 an article "The Emerging Giants" all about MNCs, and how they are taking over the world. The article concentrates on non-US corporations.
page 43 shows a table of data from Boston Consulting Group which has identified 100 emerging-market companies that have the potential to reach the top rank of global corporations. The table lists 25 of these, what country they represent, and their revenues in $billions. The list is alphabetical by name. Below, however, I have grouped according to country.
As can be seen, out of "3rd world" countries, India is at the bottom of the list in revenue if not in revenue per capita. China is at the top of the list.
