Looking at the numerous posts (some of which is from wannabe union leaders), statements from IEEE USA, articles in the press notably EETimes -it is obvious that the bulk of american engineers are convinced that:-

Intel need not hire an American ever again. 4484
Clueless bigot. If America is not good enough for Intel, is Intel good enough for America? For jobs: India - good. China - good. Africa - bad. America - bad. For war for oil: Blacks...

-the tech sectror belongs to them -the US congress has the powers to legislate that no foreigner should be employed outside the US until there isnt an american available for the job -if someone can be hired cheap in the 3rd world -then he cannot be as good as an american.

About 2+ yrs back on a.c.c, people used to say that offshoring is happening because companies are not doing well. I didn't want to discourage them despite figuring out a lot more from my vantage pt. Now Id like to tell them, that no matter what you do -neither can you legislate offshoring nor is it true that workers in 3rd world countries are stupid. In fact, given the unemployment situation which is worse in 3rd world countries, companies may be hiring good manpower on the cheap making american workers an even less desirable workforce. If at all projects flop, it isn;t because the manpower is stupid -it is because rgeed has taken hold of the mgmt which wants to hire the cheapest and sometimes unqualified manpower to keep costs low. So when mgmt corrects its mistakes, what seems to be the doom of offshoring -will actually turn out to be a pbutting phase.

regards -kamal
