The Dems do not in any way rival the Republicans in their creation of corpotopian enabling legislation and corporate welfare, but they all too often vote with the Pugs in getting these bills into law. A Democratic majority in the Congress would do much to stem the outright deluge of special interest legislation and tax cuts for the rich simply because they would introduce far LESS legislation of this sort. Desperate Housewives Zalek Bloom Recently I watched the TV series "Desperate Housewives", Season 1, around Episodes 27-29. The man was peeed... But until the Democratic party holds true to its namesake and dramatically increases the number of House members, the Democratic party will continue to be dominated by the Republicans simply because the Republicans are a lot better at the money and power game than the Democrats will ever be. If the Democratic party wants to remain viable it must play its own game instead of trying to beat the Pugs at their game. And the game of a true Democratic party should be more democracy. We do not want a direct democracy. It would truly be a disaster. But democracy is not yes-no or on-off. It is a question of "how democratic are we?" And right now the American middle clbutt is being destroyed because we are not democratic enough; because we do not have adequate voice in our government. Democracy is measured in the ability of the middle clbutt to REPLACE those who have not legislated in their best interest.
