when the employer turns off the tap that finances your job- he ends up doing what you call taking away the job from you. If the job does belong to you -then the money that finances your employment must also be yours. So why do people report to work or stretch themselves to prove that they are worthy of the job?

He can travel to a country with a lower cost of living. Or maybe GWB Jr's idea of a free trade zone will bear frution and companies will open shop in a low-cost zone to compete with wages in India.

they don't do it for fun. People who have just landed or are on a bench may not get a regular salary. Same holds true for business visa holders who are put up in extended stay lodges aka a trial period before the client decides to sign a contract with a bodyshop. Usually, Indians from the same company (bodyshop) do charity and accomodate the new hire till he can stand up on his legs. I have had to depend on colleagues who I never met before in India for my room rent, car pool to office and back and at one pt I told the american client -if he didn't arrange for past-due payment, I will take a flight back to India as I do not have the financial resources to continue. OTOH, there are many million dollar home owners in calif of Indian origin -and these are people who worked up the system i.e. acquired their green card by sweating it out.

why don't you look at the fact that the H1b visa has been created from the ground up to perpetuate slavery. It isn't something new -but has been going on for the past 300 yrs.

kind of. h1bs have to come with the same cost of living once they land in the USA -but not before when they were acquiring education or after-when they return for good. The fraud (inflated exchange rate) compels them to opt for slavery i.e. a little money saved is worth a lot back home. So , employers and rednecks alike can make a claim -if you think it is slavery, who is forcing you to come to the US. The truth is that slavery doesn't require nets and whips to perpetuate.
