BANGALORE: Nagesh Babu, a Java professional from Andhra Pradesh, prepared for a big party on Saturday. He had good reason to be upbeat: he had just landed a well-paying job at iGATE Global Solutions Ltd. after a hugely rewarding recruitment process at the ongoing " The Hindu Opportunities Job Fair 2005" here.

With a year's experience at a private firm in Bangalore, Mr. Babu had walked into the job fair barely expecting a new job. The M.Sc. (Information Systems) graduate from Kurnool's St. Joseph's College had prepared well for the gruelling selection process. As he received the offer letter from iGATE Senior Manager (Human Resources), he thanked The Hindu and iGATE for a dream realised.

For Suresh M., life has just turned better. His habit of never missing The Hindu Opportunities column has finally paid of. After a written test, a personal interview and a HR round, Suresh was offered a job at iGATE as a Java developer. "Since the past four weeks, I have been following the advertisements for this job fair. I registered online and have been waiting for this day," beamed the candidate, a native of Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Suresh's stint for a year at CGI helped him get through the new job. "I am happy with the salary offered. I am planning for a party too."

Mr. Khatri was unemployed for the past 15 days, a period of uncertainty spent completely in Bangalore. At the end of his job hunt, he thanked himself for preparing well for the job fair. "After registering online for the fair, I was ready with all my documents," he said, all set to inform his parents back home in Delhi, the happy news.

Two and half years ago, K. Sridhar had joined a private firm in the United States as a programming developer. On landing in India, he decided to stay back and look for a good break. "Based in Hyderabad, I spotted the job fair advertisement and registered." That decision helped him at Cognizant Technologies, which offered him a job.
