Jack Welch: "Immigration rules restrict the US in filling send jobs" 1619
ROTFL
Because of the ones that made bad decisions? Someone at a division-level job at a mega company may not be able to (or in a position to) turn around the much larger ship, but MAY be able to run the smaller company. Of course there is a lot of difference between running a division of a much larger mature company and running a small company. Tough to judge that one. Very true. It is an iffy proposition. But if it looks like the alternative is going under, might as well try it. Or those who provide the capital necessary for expansion do. Losing control is often a cost of saving a company, But better to have 10% of a valuable viable company than 100% of a failed one. Well, I think that the point is while (if) you retain ultimate authority, you have to step away and let him or her do their job, I've seen this fail miserably, where the owner grew the business approving every expenditure, and thought he was really delegating if he let others spend up to $1,000 without his prior approval. If that kind of person brings in a CEO, then questions every major strategic thrust, the relationship is not likely to prosper, and no-one wins. -- Alex -- Replace "nospam" with "mail" to reply by email.
