Yes. My question is what would have been the reaction if they had given big business free reign to counter the columnist's comments. And what if they gave the logging or petroleum industry free reign to counter columnist's comments about logging or oil drilling policies? While I appreciate your concern for GM's right to free speech, I say let them buy ad space if they want to tell their story.
Seems pretty petty. But it's their paper, and I don't think they should be required to pander to big business if they don't want to.
Are you claiming that there ever was a time when a paper had to allow a big corporation free space to rebut any comments made in the paper critical of them? The only "equal time" rules I was aware of related to elections.
Or one of the rare left wing ones, of which the same could be said yep yep. To his credit, one here actually says "never believe anything you hear on this show unless you independently verify it with two independent sources." Pretty good advice! yep Sounds fun! yep.
AFLAC! Actually, I think this site is doing a good job of that, and if a story like this gets traction, it can make a difference. In what way do you think they should be "held responsible"? By a government "press fairness commission"? That would certainly cut down
