Well as you might expect one of the effects of terrorism is to increase general arousal of a population. People are in general much more trigger happy and naturally those who's job it is to stop terrism are even more so.

This creats situations where cops will shoot more readily than they would otherwise.

As a personal example, I live near a national forest in harvest timber areas and last summer (or the one before) they told us to watch out for terrirsts starting fires -- this was suposedly a captured bit of intel they had and persons were targeting our forests.

I thought it was probably bullpoo, but still I did keep a better eye out -- for one thing forest fires are nasty and I'd faught them from time to time on a fire crew.

Naturally I'm also armed, so I did think what would I do if I actually found Arabs starting a fire.

Am I supposed to shoot them? This hasn't been made clear by Bush and co.

Thankfully no persons have shown up.

If they do I'll play it by ear, just like those trigger happy cops
