Rick,

Let's be honest, Clinton never balanced any budget. Every single year he was president the national debt increased. That's not a balanced budget. Don't believe the liars. Don't propagate the lie. Of course Bush makes Clinton look like a saint with regards to spending but that's another story of pulling the wool over American eyes. Irresponsible is irresponsible no matter how many times you argue it is responsible.

I've got dibs on the fat lady down the block ! :-) Look ... American heavy industry is...

It's good to be prepared. If I read you right you suspect a a real snapback. I do too. Right now the Government and banks are going for broke on the inflation gamble. They figure they can bankrupt all those who worked hard for decades before the system will pop. I don't think so. Average people are alot smarter than what the elitests think. E.g. here in CA many people are divested into real-estate in Mexico et serving to drive good engineers back to India and otherwise drive smart investment out of this country. E.g. no new plants here. All in China before the USA. The recent steps to re-instate debtors prison show the elitists are trying to cover their tracks. They made stupid loans and now want to scapegoat from them. Another example is the use of bankruptcy to break promised pensions.

Real-estate to me is like the stock market of the late 90's. Everyone is always talking about it. Everyone wants to get in to get rich. That's why I'm trying to get out.

I suspect a snapback but would not be surprised just to see withering. Did the Roman empire really implode or just fade away?
