North America on the verge of economic collapse 4388
I've got dibs on the fat lady down the block ! :-) Look ... American heavy industry is DOOMED, has been for quite a while. Any vestiges that survive the rise of Chinese industry will employ mostly robots - and a few Chinese tekkies to repair the robots. America CANNOT compete in this arena ... we're too addicted to our comfy lifestyles, high wages and generous benifit plans. We'll drag the entire industrial sector into the pit of hell rather than give up a single dollar from our paychecks. North America on the verge of economic collapse 4389 Good musician, mad-dog person though ... As for 'the circle' ... I expect it to remain unbroken for... The areas where America CAN compete - bleeding-edge technology especially - aren't gonna generate enough revenues to float the entire country. They'll only employ well-educated specialists. I suppose you might score a job as the janitor ... Oh, they'll try some of the usual tricks - heavy import tariffs and such - but that's just artificial, a desperate simulation of being compebreastive. It won't work for long. 200,000,000 American customers -vs- two billion asian customers - they'll just dump us entirely and write off the insignificant loss rather than pay those tariffs or suffer with those idiotic plans to 'balance' trade. Hopefully, we won't go all the way down to 3rd-world status ... Eventually, the asian nations will begin to 'outsource' to US ... WE will be the cheap labor. Then the pendulum will begin to reverse. Could take fifty years or more however ...
