Not from my own work experiences to be fair, but from people I know in other companies that have asked for software to be knocked up for them, and has come through in time (early in some cases) and meeting requirements at a much reduced cost compared to getting it done locally. I've heard no horror stories as yet, but then I'm only going by word of mouth from a small section of our local IT community. The thing is other areas such as call-centres in India are so obviously f***ed-up I'd think the same would be true of the out-sourced programming and word would have gotten around, but it hasn't.

He's a pathetic marketing creature who lowers himself even lower by being one of the most prolific spammers we've seen in quite some time. I have a quiet laugh about it myself, I know a number of IT decision makers who'd refuse to go the "Indian way" purely on the grounds that they've heard enough of that country between that guys trolling and the rest of the posts from the hindutva nazi brigade, so I just have a quiet laugh every time I see a new post espousing how great they are and realising they are only doing themselves harm! Nobody likes a spammer (be it marketing or political hatred), and India seems (along with Sri Lanka) to be one of the biggest sources on this planet. Not all decisions are based on the dollar, just most.

The communication factor is probably the biggest problem, I only have to deal with their helpdesks, and on quite a number of occasions now I've wanted to commit liquidate over how pathetic their services are. But people are learning and helpdesk movements seem to be reversing in a number of areas, probly due to customers moving to other suppliers (just like we have, bye bye HP).
