The rich are building starter castles and McMansions all over. Jobs in construction, farmscaping, hobby livestock, and satellite dishes are in demand. They are bringing in lots more money than the old line cattle and timber businesses ever did.

America could become the home of the rich, and the defenders of their buttets, and we would do well to spell out the terms of that deal more explicitly. If the rich get it wrong, they will be dragged out to be shot. Us hillbillies have lotsa guns.

Then too, the Ozarks are full of small acreage the rich dont want that provide places (with shacks or trailers) low wage folks can afford to live in. Hydropower from the reservoirs the rich like to build by make cheap electricity. Like .09$kwhr. Heat with wood: 40$-cord. Arkansas has no building code or vehicle inspection. drive whatever you can afford, and live in whatever you can within your budget.

Much of the welfare clbutt has moved to urban areas where the benefits are more generous. The rest of the hillbillies stay put, and the transnationals are building factories in the small towns to hire them, at low wages, but out here, folks can get by on it. Jobs are secure since there is so little profit in outsourcing.

Gravel roads leave tire prints. So, when the population is low, and stuff starts getting stolen, folks notice, and look for a match in the tire tracks. And when they find it, they shoot the pickup, with the understanding the next time we wont wait for it to be parked. Thieves tend to move to urban areas where anonymity is easier to come by.

Thus. I've never had a lock on my door, and the keys are always in the ignition. Nobody steals my truck, cause everyone knows who owns it.
