Most of the stuff imported from cheap labor is the Walmart crap that does not add much value. Autos are either produced in the U.S. or from countries that have a standard of living equivalant to our own.

Also, I have heard from at least two Indians at my job that the 1-5 (or whatever it is) salary in India goes a lot farther than their current salaries in the U.S. I suspect it is because you do not have the problem with real estate and medical care that we do here.

I was refering to making a serious effort to research and develop alternative energy sources. There are many ideas out there -- such as solar, wind, nuclear, etc. -- but they all have shortcommings and need to be refined.
