Whats wrong in a nutshell is this... and its a repeating cycle in history.

Government, any type, after a few hundred years (close to 260 years in virtually all cases for the last 3,000 years of so)...is that govt gets so large that it sucks up the net production of the people.. that money goes to special interests, the king, or in the US various vested interests, corporations and a 500% bloated civil service (we are retiring our average police in many cities at 15 times what the average citizen retires at, (since 1999, not prior to that).
the result is all work and no play...and no money left in the private sector to expand or heal... then it goes into the red
the US govt is trying to handle that, while staying bloated by printing funny money.... other nations do not want our funny money unless they can buy up our real property etc with it.
The profits from the real property, and the wages these pay the imported talent leave the country...further defunding an inceasingly desperate government...which then leans on the US citizens harder for taxes and fees... making work a proposition that debilitates the worker... an age old pattern.
Then production tanks... lied about by govt that counts offshored work as increased US production...so that the bloated govt issues remain hidden.
That elephant is now sitting down for dinner... denial will not solve the problem. But then, historically it is too late... that nation goes into a two generation decline... many times it re-emerges...as china and india are doing today. They will dominate for about 80 years... then suffer the same ravages as the US comes back on its game in approx 3025.
