The way I see it one or more of the following will happen, all of which are bad for India:
1. Companies realize there are no real savings outsourcing to India or that the quality of the products are so poor that they have to be redesigned and-or developed. Failed projects will be blamed on time difference-language barriers etc. by management. Hello Indian scapegoats. Lets face it projects fail in North America even when the developers are down the hall. 2. The cost of living and disposable income of Indian software developers goes up. Good for them right? But in true capitalistic fashion, Gates and Ellison start talking about how great those Vietnamese programmers are - and they work for peanuts. 3. It continues the way it is, salaries for Indians remain depressed. The workers are forced to work long long overtime hours without pay. Employees are depressed, but they dare not ask for a raise or time off because they will be terminated. Compebreastion is so fierce that students wishing to live a life of mediocrity kill themselves if they cannot cut it.
