I butture you you are talking about call centers for 1-800 number jobs who have nothing to do with IT. Once again IT shops in India are not called BPO. Only 1-800 call centres are and other non IT jobs.

One has to just pick a newspaper in India to see how much IT folks are paid. I was there in India last year and was amazed at the salary they pay. Team Leaders - 26,000 per month. HA HA. A bank clerk (teller) gets paid that much these days. And I would rather trust what I see and what I know, than someone like you with an agenda.

For e.g, for a 2-5 yrs exp in datawarehousing they are paying 75,000 per month

same salary for a DB2 DBA in Chennai (2-6 yrs experience)

an EDA profossional with 2-6 yrs experience gets nearly 90,000 per month.

u will be in a better position to appreciate poverty line after few years when there will be no good-paying IT jobs left in America. already Americans have steeply compromised on existing IT salary by allowing it to go down drastically in the last 5 yrs, even in real terms.

Consumable goods would have never been this cheap in USA-Canada without the china factor. You are right that high end items like BOSE-HarmonKador are expensive, but they aren't manufactured in china too. So talking about it is irrelevant.

there is also another translation for the above. China is not a place where there are enuf talent for R&D. Otherwise companies like GE would have figured it out now that it is cheaper to start a R&D in china. This didn't happen in India. Almost all top IT companies have labs in india doing great stuff. Those guys are paid obscene. We are talking about 300K per month if you are a Phd. I know it because one of my relatives was working for an american company.

Do you know that there are only two companies in the world who are considered as total experts in all SAP modules. You guessed it right. Both are based in B'lore, India.

all the talk about outsourced project failing enmbutte is nothing but a self-serving survival campaign. Just like american drug industry which tried to stall import of canadian drugs on the pretext that they are not safe. A friend of mine at Washington Airport was accosted by a lobby to pimp for american drugs. when he asked to mention one case of an american who suffered from canadian drugs, they cud just break wind there.

It is too easy for anyone to spot your agenda when you predict doom of outsourcing model.
