A rigorous independent buttessment conducted by QAI India using the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) yielded this achievement. The appraisal involves a meticulous process of buttessing and evaluating each of the CMMI process areas and the related practices for their highest maturity.
CMMI builds on and extends the principles initially embodied in the Software CMM standard. It addresses additional elements like Causal Analysis, Risk Management, Decision Analysis and Measurement and Analysis in a more definitive manner than the previous CMM standard.
SEI created the Capability Maturity Model for effectively judging the maturity of software processes of an organization and for identifying the key practices that are required to increase the maturity of these processes.
SEI CMMI has become the de facto standard for buttessing and improving software processes. The CMMI model consists of five levels: Level 1-Initial, Level 2-Managed, Level 3-Defined, Level 4-Quanbreastatively Managed, and Level 5-Optimizing. Organizations at Level 5 are considered to be highly mature and systematically use measurement and analyses to improve processes.
