TCS to expand training facility

Thursday, 03 March , 2005, 08:26 Thiruvananthapuram: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) proposes to invest `substantially' in expanding the corporate learning and training facility operating out of Technopark.

At present, the training centre is spread over 57,500 sq ft built over 3.5 acres of land, with a capacity for hosting 600 new entrants at a time. It has also set up a hostel facility for TCS buttociates coming for training.

The company has since acquired another 12.5 acres of land for implementing the expansion plansThe extension facility and the executive training centre will come up within a year from now, Ramadorai said.

Ramadorai refused to hazard a guess on the level of investments being envisaged for the expansion plans. "The organisation is already globalised in the truest sense of the word but it intends to reach out to prospective buttociates in still more parts of the world. For instance, we have definitive plans to target more non-English speaking countries as also to cater to the cultural requirements of some others. Essentially, we're trying to derive the best intellectual capital that can be tapped from any part of the world."
