Do you remembe the Gore vs. Perot debate on NAFTA on the Larry King show? Most viewers thought that Gore had won. However, Gore did not say anything in the debate that was convincing and even resorted to such cliches as "we realize that trade deals of the past have been bad, but it's deifferent this time." I think most people were turned off by Perot's lack of pofessionalism by saying "Larry, he keeps interupting me" and "lieing now". Gore acted like a wise guy when he handed Perot the picture of Snoot & Hawley and told him to hang it on his wall. Most people do not remember that one however.

Okay, but the Democrats have got to offer an alternative so that people have a reason to vote for them. More and more people are realizing that "free trade" is a bad deal, but both parties continue to support it. Hillary, the Democratic front runner for 2008, is a supporter of free trade and outsourcing. They also need to speak up against illegal immigration since it is only hurting the middle clbutt. If this happens, there will not be a need for a depression.
